Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DedalDev Doo ("DedalDev", "we", "us") handles your information when you use AppRankHero (the "Service"), our macOS app and website for App Store Optimization (ASO) on the App Store and Google Play.

Information we collect

• Account data: your email address and name, provided when you sign in. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase.
• Product data: the apps and keywords you choose to track, and the ranking, competitor and metric data generated from them.
• Subscription data: your plan status and license key. Payments are processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record. We never receive or store your card details.
• Diagnostic data: basic logs needed to operate and secure the Service.

How we use it

To provide and maintain the Service, authenticate you, generate ASO data you request, process your subscription, send essential transactional emails, and keep the Service secure. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service: Google Firebase (authentication, and Firebase Crashlytics crash reports from the Mac app: the error, app version, macOS version and an anonymous account id, never your email or tracked data; you can turn it off in Settings, Privacy), Polar (payments and Merchant of Record), Resend (transactional email), Google Analytics (website analytics, see below), and our hosting infrastructure. The Service queries Apple's public iTunes/App Store Search API and the public Google Play store listings and search results to obtain ranking data; that data is public.

Data retention & your rights

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account from within the app at any time, which removes your account and associated personal data. You may also request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us.

Analytics and cookies

This website uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, to understand how visitors use it. If you visit from Europe (the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and other European countries, detected from your browser's time zone), analytics cookies are used only if you accept them in the cookie banner, and the legal basis is your consent. Elsewhere analytics runs without asking, based on our legitimate interest in improving the website. Anyone can turn analytics off at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.

• What is collected: pages viewed, clicks on key buttons (such as Download, the pricing toggle and the copy buttons in the MCP section), approximate location such as country and city, device, browser and operating system, the referring site, and how long a visit lasts. We do not send your name, email address or account data to Google Analytics.
• IP addresses: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. IP anonymization is part of its default behavior. Google uses the address only to derive an approximate location and then discards it.
• Cookies: _ga (identifies a browser, up to 2 years) and _ga_<ID> (keeps session state, up to 2 years), both set by this website. Visitors from Europe do not get them unless they accept.
• If you decline or have not chosen: analytics storage stays denied and no Analytics cookies are set. Google's tag may still send limited, cookieless pings that carry no persistent identifier, which Google uses for aggregated measurement.
• No advertising: advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization are always denied. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or share the data with advertisers.
• Retention: Google keeps the event data for the period set in our Analytics property, no longer than 14 months.

How to opt out: choose Decline in the cookie banner, or open Cookie settings in the footer of any page and change your choice. Declining also removes existing Analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage) and not on our servers. You can also block cookies in your browser settings or use Google's browser add-on.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is restricted to your own team. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
