Email and Slack reports

Get daily, weekly or monthly keyword rank reports by email or in a Slack channel, set up in Settings, Reports.

Reports bring your rank changes to you, so you do not have to open the app to know how a week went.

What a report contains

For each app in the report, over the last day, week or 30 days:

  • How many keywords rank, and how many are in the top 10, compared with the start of the period.
  • How many keywords improved and declined.
  • The biggest gains and drops, and keywords that entered the top 10.
  • Links to the app in the store, with App Store and Google Play apps marked.

Set up an email report

  1. Open Settings in the sidebar and find Reports, Keyword Ranking Reports.
  2. Click Add email report.
  3. Choose the Frequency: Daily, Weekly (pick the Day) or Monthly (pick the Day of month, 1 to 28).
  4. Choose the Time, a whole hour. The time zone is shown under it.
  5. Under Apps, keep All my apps (every app in My Apps and Clients) or choose Choose apps.
  6. Add up to 10 Recipients. They do not need an AppRankHero account.
  7. Click Create report.

Set up a Slack report

  1. In Slack, create an incoming webhook for the channel that should get the report. The How to create a Slack webhook link in the dialog opens Slack's guide. The webhook URL starts with https://hooks.slack.com/.
  2. In AppRankHero, go to Settings, Reports and click Add Slack report.
  3. Paste the Slack webhook URL and click Test connection. A test message appears in the channel.
  4. Choose the frequency, time and apps as for an email report, then click Create report.

Manage reports

Each report shows when it runs next and when it was last sent.

  • Use the switch to pause or resume a report.
  • Send test now sends it immediately, marked as a test.
  • Edit changes the schedule, apps, recipients or webhook.
  • Delete removes it.

A team can have up to 10 reports. Owners and members can create and change them, viewers can see them.

Questions and answers

Why did a report not arrive?

Check that the report is not Paused, look in your spam folder, and use Send test now. For Slack, run Test connection. A webhook that was removed in Slack stops working and needs to be replaced.

Are reports sent when my Mac is off?

Yes. Reports are sent from our server at the time you chose. They use the latest ranks we have, so on the Free plan, where ranks refresh while the app is open, open the app regularly to keep them current.
