Teams

Teams and roles

Create a team, invite people by email, choose owner, member or viewer, switch teams and leave a team.

Updated · For AppRankHero 1.0.2 on macOS

A team shares apps, keywords, rank history and reports. Everyone works on the same data, each with a role.

Create a team

  1. Click the team switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose Create Team. You can also go to Account, Teams, New Team.
  2. Pick an avatar in Select Team Avatar, type the Team Name and click Create Team.

Invite people

  1. Open the team switcher and choose Manage. Only owners see it.
  2. Under Invite Member, enter the Email address, choose a role, and click Invite.
  3. We email the invitation. It is valid for 7 days.

The person accepts the invitation in AppRankHero. Invitations appear in a Pending Invites dialog after they open the app, and on their Account page, with Accept and Decline. Someone without an account first registers with the invited email address.

Under Invitations in Manage you see each invitation as Pending, Expired or Joined.

Roles

Role What they can do
Owner Everything: add and delete apps and folders, manage keywords, versions and reports, rename the team, invite and remove people, change roles, delete the team.
Member Add apps and keywords, refresh, edit versions, and manage reports. Members cannot delete apps or folders or manage the team.
Viewer Read only. Viewers see every app, rank and report but cannot change anything or refresh. Through the MCP server they can read but not write.

Owners change a role with the dropdown next to a member, or remove the member with Remove. A team always keeps at least one owner.

Switch teams

Click the team switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose a team. The sidebar, the Dashboard and Settings show the data of the selected team.

Leave or delete a team

  • To leave a team you do not own, go to Account, Teams and click Leave.
  • To delete a team, an owner opens Manage and uses Delete under Danger Zone. This removes the team's apps and history for everyone.

Plans in a team

Pro and Studio are billed per person. A team gets the limits of the lowest plan among its members: Studio limits when everyone is on Studio, Pro limits when everyone is on Pro or Studio, and Free limits as soon as one member is on Free. See Plans and limits.

Questions and answers

Does a viewer need a paid plan?

Viewers count as members of the team for its plan, so a Free viewer gives the team Free limits. Give viewers a paid plan, or keep them on a separate team, when the team needs Pro or Studio limits.

The invitation expired. What now?
