Track competitors
See who ranks for your keywords, import their keywords, compare ranks on the chart and watch their listings.
AppRankHero shows you the apps around you for every keyword, and lets you follow a competitor as closely as your own app.
See who ranks for a keyword
The COMPETITORS column of the keyword table shows the icons of the apps that rank for each keyword in that country.
- Click an icon to open that app's keywords: every keyword it ranks for that you also track or could track.
- Click the overflow button at the end of the row (Explore all competitors) to see the full list.
Take a competitor's keywords
- Click a competitor icon in the COMPETITORS column.
- The dialog shows how many of its keywords are already in your project. Turn on New only to see just the ones you do not track yet.
- Click Discover to check their popularity, difficulty and your rank.
- Select keywords and click Import selected, or Import all.
Compare ranks on the chart
Open a keyword's rank history (double click it), click Add next to Competitors, pick apps in Select Competitors and click Done. Their ranks are drawn next to yours. See Rank history and changes.
Follow a competitor closely
To track a competitor with its own keywords and listing history, add it as an app:
- Click Add Application.
- Choose Competitors as the Category, choose the store, search for the app and add it.
- Track the keywords you care about for it.
- In its Versions tab, click Check for Update after their releases. Each new version saves their name, subtitle, description and other fields, so you see exactly what they changed.
An app under Competitors counts toward your app limit. See Plans and limits.
Questions and answers
How does AppRankHero decide who is a competitor?
From the same searches that measure your rank. The apps that rank for your keywords are your competitors for those keywords, whichever company makes them.
Can I ask my AI who is beating me?
Yes. The MCP server has a competitors tool. Try asking "Which apps outrank me for my top 10 keywords in the US?".
