Getting started

Add your first app

Add an App Store or Google Play app, choose its countries, and pick the right sidebar category.

Updated · For AppRankHero 1.0.2 on macOS

Everything in AppRankHero starts with an app. You add it once, choose the countries you care about, and then track keywords for it.

Add an app

  1. Click Add Application at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. In Category, choose where the app goes: My Apps, Clients, Competitors or Research.
  3. In Store, choose App Store or Google Play.
  4. Under Select App, click + Add. The Search App dialog opens.
  5. Search for the app and select it:
    • App Store: type the app name, the bundle ID (for example com.example.app) or the numeric Apple ID from the App Store link.
    • Google Play: type the app name or the package name (for example com.example.app).
  6. The app's current version appears with a tab for each country. Click the round + to open Store countries, select every country you want to track, then click Done.
  7. Click + Add Application.

The app appears in the sidebar. Open it and continue with Add and discover keywords.

Which category to choose

Category Use it for
My Apps Your own apps.
Clients Apps you manage for someone else, for example as an agency.
Competitors Apps you want to watch, with their own keywords and versions.
Research A keyword research project without an app, for example before you launch. You give it a project name instead of choosing an app.

You can drag apps between folders and reorder them in the sidebar. To create a folder, click the … next to a category name and choose Add Folder.

Add more countries later

Countries are attached to an app version. To add a country to an existing app:

  1. Open the app and select the Versions tab.
  2. Open the version menu and choose Edit version.
  3. Click the + next to the country tabs, pick the countries and click Done, then save.

Plan limits

The Free plan tracks 1 app. When you add a second app on Free, the upgrade dialog opens instead. Pro tracks 10 apps and Studio 50. See Plans and limits.

Questions and answers

Not yet. Copy the number after id in an App Store link, or the value after id= in a Google Play link, and search for that.

Does tracking a competitor count toward my app limit?

Yes. Every app in the sidebar counts, including apps under Competitors and Research projects.
